Barton & Guestier USA (B&G USA) was founded in 20I0, in Miami, Florida and is charged with acting as the exclusive US importer and distributor for its Parent Company's portfolio of wines, namely wine brands falling under Barton & Guestier, Patriarche and Listel wine houses. B&G USA is a wholly owned subsidiary of Barton & Guestier France (B&G France), a French owned company part of the Castel Group. B&G USA itself owns BGPL USA the subsidiary company that manages the U.S. Department of Treasury Alcohol Importer permit which allows the import and distribution of the wines produced by its Parent Companies. The core mission of the company is to continue to build the 3 prestigious French wine houses of the group through expansion of distribution, strengthening of distributor relationships and a focus on well executed marketing plans.

 

POSITION SUMMARY:

B&G USA is looking for a Business Development Manager that is a highly motivated, well organized, and self-starting individual. The mission is to exclusively develop the sales of Veuve du Vernay, Barton & Guestier, Patriarche, and Listel wine brands in the US National and Regional Off Premise accounts.  You will report directly to our Director National Accounts Off-Premise. You will also report to the company’s leadership team on all matters of importance. To achieve our common goals, you will involve the Regional Directors and keep them aware of your plans and achievements. To that extent they remain responsible for the profitability of their customers and therefore all price structures including depletions allowance and all incentive programs and charge back related to your job remain subject to their approval or the approval of the C.E.O.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Providing high-level administrative assistance in various tasks, from drafting presentations and submissions, to conducting market research and analyzing data, to monitoring execution on all current programs. More details below. 
  • Filling submission forms specific to each National/Regional Account in collaboration with the Director NA OFF by:
    • Working with Distributors NA OFF Teams or KAMs in charge of the targeted account to use their feedback and have a structured approach.
    • Involving each Regional Director concerned by the submission to make sure projected pricing will be in line with the strategy.
  • Monitoring each National Account program to make sure it is fully executed nationally or regionally (depending on authorization) to protect listings by:
    • Creating detailed execution reports in collaboration with BGPL USA Data Analyst and/or a distributor’s Data Analyst in charge of a certain account.
    • Involving each Regional Director concerned and/or their distributors directly to ease the follow-up needed.
  • Working with the Director NA OFF to implement and execute upcoming National Account programs (transport/forecast/pricing/promotional activities/incentives etc).
  • Collaborating with BGPL USA Data Analyst to analyze Nielsen/IRI data and establish reports to identify potential areas for growth.
  • Collaborating with BGPL USA Marketing Team in any matters related to Chains OFF/Marketing. For example, managing any presentations/decks/portfolio presentations in collaboration with the Marketing Team to give best in class tools to buyers/distributors and make sure they fully understand BGPL USA strengths and capabilities.
  • Assisting to manage the National/Regional Off-Premise selling strategies through distributors in line with the company’s operation strategy, including annual market plan development and execution, pricing and margin control, volume, execution of benchmarking reviews, and any related issues.
  • Conducting with the Director NA OFF sales calls and surveys at major retailers with and without the distributor’s KAM’s.
  • Attending and executing all necessary General Sales meeting presentations and beneficial tradeshows, consumer facing activities and brand activations for the NA/REG OFF Business.
  • Following the guidelines and using the tools developed by the company to achieve common goals.
  • Potential in and out-of-state travel with some international travel by various means of transportation (air, train, or vehicle).
